Talking Leads to Change“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change”
Adult Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (MBACP)
I am a kind, compassionate and empathic person. As an ethical practitioner, you will be working with an honest, competent and trustworthy therapist.
Welcome to My Space Therapies Counselling
I will offer you a safe, supportive and confidential space to discuss and work through your difficulties. I see counselling and psychotherapy as a means to help understand your internal process and heal from past experiences; which, over time allows change and growth.
Why Should I Condsider Counselling?
This could be due to big life changes including parenting, disability, long term conditions and divorce. You may be struggling to adapt and make sense of such big changes. Counselling can offer space to think and express feelings of loss for what you had before, whilst exploring ways to accept what has come to pass.
Trauma & PTSD
Therapy can help you start to come to terms with unresolved trauma that you have experienced, either as an adult or in childhood. You may be experiencing unpleasant symptoms as a result including anxiety, fear and avoidance.
Grief and Loss
It may be the loss of a loved one or a more complex bereavement. It is important to allow yourself time to explore the feelings that arise and the thoughts that are associated with the loss. Grief may also occur with loss of a job, health and youth.
You may not know the root cause of your depression, and that is ok. It may be a familiar feeling that has always been there, which you can explore with a therapist. Alternatively, you may know exactly what the cause is, but are struggling to move forward and have a feeling of being ‘stuck.’ Counselling can help you move forward.
Anxiety, Panic & Stress
These overwhelming feelings may be preventing you from living your life to the full, and you may avoid people, places or things as a result. CBT, psychoeducation and talking therapy can help you to begin to understand the bodily process and take control of situations which cause distress.
Other reasons to consider counselling are, but not limited to:
Suicidal Thoughts & Feelings
Relationship & Attachment Issues
Domestic and Emotional Abuse
